Kathryn W. Davis Peacebuilding Concentration
The Kathryn W. Davis Peacebuilding Concentration brings together the proven academic program of Future Generations with the expertise of the U.S. Institute of Peace. Students choosing this concentration typically come from countries with ongoing conflicts or places that are working to rebuild and repair after the ravages of war. Some also come from heavily segregated or marginalized urban neighborhoods in the U.S. Coursework centers around the building of relationships between people, social groups, and state institutions that prevent violence and address the root causes of war, terrorism, and violent conflict. A number of Future Generations students have been awarded a Davis Projects for Peace Prize in order to test their own ideas for building peace.
